Project 365
Week 8
Monday, Feb 21st
Every Monday, Alyse has her swim lessons. This Monday she moved up to a new class. She is a good little swimmer. However, she really likes to play in the water. I think she could be even better if she stopped smiling and focused a little, but I am glad that she is having fun.
*This picture is a little blurry because it was taken through the glass.

This week I have spent a lot of my time with this little piggy
Tuesday, there was a lot of birthday party planning!
Wednesday, Feb 23
I had a "great idea" for Alyse's birthday present. (More on that later this week.)
Let's just say that the smile on Josh's face in this picture didn't last for very long when he saw what I had talked him into....
Thursday, Feb 24th
Alyse loves art. She loves to make crafts, draw, color, paint, etc. At the place she takes dance, they also have art classes. They just started a new class where they have a story time and then do an art project based on the book they read. I thought she would love it so I signed her up. She started this week.
Friday, Feb 25th
You already saw about our girls morning out.
When we got home Alyse helped me feed Breeley, which I thought was precious!
But the big event of the day was that on Friday night Elevation Worship (the worship band from at our church) recorded a live album and DVD that is going to be released later this year. It was an awesome night of worship!

Saturday, Feb 26th
While at the recording on Fri night Josh came out and told me that an officer in his department had been hurt. Not long after we found out that the officer had not made it.
The officer was on the SWAT team. He actually had been on the SWAT team for 20something years. He had been at a call out and went home. He was in his garage doing a safety check and organizing his gear. Somehow a Flash/Bang went off in his trunk. (A Flash/Bang is like a small grenade. They use it to distract people when entering a house. They throw it in the house to surprise people. It sparks, smokes, and makes a very loud bang.) The explosion caused major injuries and he lost a lot of blood. He was rushed to the hospital but died shortly after.
It was a horrible accident!
Josh was a little shaken up by it. Josh has known him and worked in the same area with him since he got out of the academy almost 6yrs ago. Josh said that he had just talked to Fred (the officer) that morning. Fred had told Josh that he was taking it easy and just riding out his time. He was set to retire this summer.
Saturday morning Josh pulled out his black band to put on his badge.
Seeing that black band is always so sad.
Sunday, Feb 27th
This weekend started LOVE week here in Charlotte. This is a week that Elevation started last year during Valentine's week were we served over 10,000 hrs volunteering and loving on our city. It was a huge success. This year there are 25 other area churches who have joined forces with Elevation with a goal of serving 25,000 of service hours. You can sign up and read more about it here.
This was also the night of Alyse's birthday party. More on that later this week, but here is a sneak peek.
