Thanksgiving 2013

Every year for Thanksgiving we go to my parents house in Raleigh. My sister and her family come too, so there is lots of children running around, lots of food, and I am always in charge of crafts for the kids. This year Josh had to drive home because he had to work.  Sadness.  He came back the next day, but missed most of the traditional Thanksgiving events. 

We started with watching the parade

Cammie is actually in that high chair.  You just can't really see her.  She sat there for a few minutes while we tried to eat.  She got to try a very tiny amount of mashed potatoes.  It was so tiny I don't even know if she noticed it was real food.

When she got back we did a few fun activities. Here is one. 

 

At the end of the day my girls were given new Christmas jammies to start off the Christmas season. (It's our little tradition.)

And that was Thanksgiving 2013

Happy Halloween

I never really liked Halloween.

We didn't really celebrate it growing up and I was never really excited about trick or treaters or dressing up.  But now that I am a mom, I am starting to really like it.

 

My mom bought Cammie a little Minnie costume to wear for her first Halloween. 

She also was given this lady bug outfit.

Alyse knew exactly what she wanted to be - Alice from Alice In Wonderland.  She had a whole plan for us all to dress up as characters. 

Breeley was fine with having coordinating outfits and we had it planned she was going to be the Queen of Hearts.  Then it was time to buy costumes.  I was looking at white rabbit costumes for Cammie.  Breeley then insisted that SHE had to be a bunny and Cammie could be the queen.  Of course there were no newborn Queen of Hearts costumes, so I had to be a little creative and threw a little costume together for her.

 

 

We ended up going with my sister and her family trick or treating and got some ice cream,

After we were home, Breeley wanted to sleep in her costume. I tried to talk her out of it, but we compromised. 

She wore those ears everyday for about a week.  My funny little bunny. 

 

 

Pumpkins

We picked some (with friends)

and we decorated them (with Daddy).

We also learned about them for school.

There was lots of pumpkin fun this year.

 

Apple Pickin'

 

One of my favorite fall trips that we take is to the apple orchard.

We love Sky Top. 

It is about an hour and a half away from us.  It's in the mountains and is beautiful!

Plus, the donuts are so yummy!

This year, my parents drove us up there for an afternoon of fun.
