A Merry Little Christmas

Christmas was a great day.  We woke up right around 7am (after going to bed around 1am) and started our Christmas morning out by reading the Christmas Story, singing Happy Birthday to Jesus, and opening stockings.  Once I was in position, Josh brought the girls in to see what Santa had brought them.  Alyse was very excited.  We let them play for a little bit and I made our monkey bread muffins.  Then it was time to dig into the presents.  Alyse really wanted to take her time.  She gets very distracted with each present and it takes her forever.  Because of that, we all opened our presents and just let her open 1 or 2 at a time whenever she was ready.  (It took her quite awhile.)

My parents spend Christmas morning with us, and my mom always makes us a really big southern breakfast for a brunch when we are done.  As she was cooking, Alyse and Josh settled down to watch the Disney Parade and we played with toys.

Later in the day, my sister and her family came over for a little bit.

Josh's family usually comes over at night for appetizers and desserts, but they weren't feeling very well, so we finished the evening by watching movies and still playing with all those new toys.  (We celebrated with Josh's mom and sisters the next day.)

Sadly, my camera died as the girls were opening their Santa presents.  (There was discussion of charging the battery, but it never got done.)  Here are a few pictures:

Looks like lots of fun! I'd love your recipe for monkey bread muffins if you think about it!
